Folded from Tomoko Fuse's book, Origami Spiral Art and Design. It's one of my favorite books in that she teaches you how to use certain parameters to design your own spiral, whirlpools, and coils. 

This specific piece is called, "6|10|15" because these numbers stand for the numerical parameters set for the spiral. Six refers the number of sides, 10 for the angle of ration, and 15 for spirality. 

Either way, I love the interaction of light with the inner folds of the spiral. I believe art is further enhanced by its interaction with every day surroundings. I admire beauty for its practicality, or at least pieces that can do more than just sit and look pretty. I hope my pieces can be used by others, turned over in their hands, admired, and serve another purpose in addition to looking aesthetically pleasing.
